Helping underserved youth through educational scholarships for first-generation college students, male and female high school athletes through camp experiences, and providing resources to the special needs community.
Every dollar we receive goes to one of three focused programs — chosen for where we know the Foundation can move the needle in a young person's life.
We believe education changes everything — and that belief starts early. From supporting early childhood learning through The Learning Collaborative in Charlotte, to funding first-generation college students at Transylvania University and UNC Charlotte, we invest in education at every stage because the earliest years and the college years are both make-or-break moments.
The lessons Coach Rose taught his players on the hardwood — discipline, teamwork, the willingness to be coached — belong to every kid.
We help fund team camps, uniforms, equipment and athletic-based software for schools nationwide.
We are committed to improving the lives of individuals with special needs — whether that means mobility equipment, adaptive technology, family support, or partnering with organizations already doing the work. To date we've donated 200 wheelchairs globally through Joni and Friends and funded an adaptive vehicle for a local family.
Our commitment goes beyond any single initiative — we go where the need is greatest.
Lee Rose was taught the value of an education through his teachers, coaches, and single mother. He received the first full-athletic scholarship to Transylvania University and this was the springboard to his wonderful life and career as an educator and coach. Coach Rose went back to his roots and spoke to over 10,000 middle school students while he was still coaching in the NBA. He and his wife, Eleanor, gave countless hours pouring into the children in the Appalachian Region of Eastern Kentucky. Through Coach Rose's legacy, a foundation was born to be a continuous beacon of hope for the future success of underserved children and communities.
The Foundation carries his blueprint forward. We don't memorialize him. We continue him.
